About Terra-Vinea:
The Caves Rocbere have equipped their present installation with a maturing "magic" under ground cellar. This cellar represents an ideal location for the wines matured in oak barrels. They are situated at 80 meters below the ground level. Both Grand Opera and the Chateau de Mattes age in an excellent site because of the optimum characteristics, which present this old gypsum quarry.
Temperature is kept at 15-16°C all year long.
Hygrometry is kept at 80%
There is also a natural lake inside, which preserves this constant humidity. The total area of this underground cellar is 4.000 meters squared. Terra-Vinea is located at 4 km from the Sigean African Reserve (350,000 visitors per year), at 3 km from the main road N9 and just at the exit of the motorway A9 (Exit Sigean), where millions of cars pass by especially during summer time. During the summer of 1994 (the date of the official opening of Terra-Vinea), more than 10,000 people visited this unique spot with a large proportion of tourists.
